ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) combines upper GI endoscopy and fluoroscopy X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat conditions of the bile ducts, gallbladder, and pancreas.
Special side-viewing endoscopes are passed into the duodenum, where contrast dye is injected into bile ducts to visualize stones or strictures under C-arm fluoroscopy.
Enables non-surgical extraction of gallstones stuck in the common bile duct (CBD), balloon dilatation of biliary strictures, and plastic or metallic stent placement for jaundice relief.
Replaces open biliary surgery, offering immediate relief from obstructive jaundice with reduced hospital stays.
