About Endoscopic Polypectomy
Endoscopic Polypectomy is the therapeutic removal of polyps—abnormal tissue growths along the stomach or colon lining—during endoscopy or colonoscopy.
Using electrosurgical wire snares or biopsy forceps, polyps are severed painlessly at their base without any external skin cuts.
Because colon polyps can develop into malignancy over time, routine polypectomy is the single most effective method for preventing colon cancer.
